4 easy steps:
Always clean the surface thoroughly before installation. Any dust or grease on the wall will affect the adhesion of the tape and result in cupping issues. The surface must be a drywall, smooth/non textured and freshly primed or painted. Do not install directly over a concrete/cement wall. Prior to installation, always prime or paint the wall as close to the same color as the Pensione to be installed and wait for the surface to be completely dry. This will minimize any appearance of space between boards during installation or during a very dry period when the wood will slightly shrink temporarily creating small gaps.
Before installing each plank, remove the protective film and place the bottom left of the plank first, then carefully press the rest of the plank into place from left to right. Once placed firmly, it will be impossible to remove the plank without damaging the wall. Alternate the different lengths and widths to create the desired effect.
Always open and use one box at a time to ensure an even mix of the various lengths and thicknesses. Start the installation at the bottom left of the wall by drawing a straight line on your wall to reference the first row.
Now firmly roll your 3” rubber roller along the full length of the plank to ensure good adhesion to the wall. It is important to apply enough pressure (approx. 15lbs pressure) with a movement from left to right and top to bottom to cover the entire plank. The adhesive is activated by pressure. Noncompliance with this important step will result in planks cupping and seperating from the wall.
